I used to shop at MAC fairly regularly. Way back when I was still taking the GO Train into work, I would go right by a MAC store in Royal Bank Plaza. Invariably, as every new collection came out, I owned it the day it came out, before I even got to the office. Then I moved and despite living right next to Fairview Mall, my trips to MAC pretty much became non-existent, other than the occasional pop-in with Julie, but even those are a thing of the past! Well this past weekend, I made it a point to make a trip to a MAC counter to pick up a few things that I’ve either had on my wishlist for a while, or needed replacing (yes Zoe, I do run out of things, lol). I even dragged my mother along just for shits and giggles.
As many of you know, it was my 33rd birthday back on Monday! In my family we don’t really give birthday presents, because quite honestly, we are really horrible at it. Nothing we ever give each other is ever remotely useful or wanted so we just pretty much have given up over the years.
One tradition I started years ago, was to always get myself a present, or presents as the case may be, for myself. While I am in the middle of cleaning out and packing up my condo so it can be put on the market, I didn’t get myself anything to big that would add to all the packing. No, instead I decided to get myself some stuff of my neverending beauty wishlist.
Birthday Beauty Haul of Awesome
Take a look at that. Isn’t it beautiful? Lol! Of course what you see above is no where near everything I purchased, some of it just hasn’t arrived as of yet. I have been dying to get my hands on the the Sephora Favorites Beauty Oil Essentials for a while. I missed my chance to order them online, but by a stroke of luck they were available in-store when I decided to go for an impromptu shopping trip. So happy I managed to get my hands on it. Product testing for days….or months as the case may be.
That was all I hauled for my birthday this year. Well at least that was all that had showed up at my house by my birthday.
Do not adjust your screens. What you are seeing above is correct. I really did buy all this stuff. Not all in the same month, but most of it anyway. It’s been a long, long time since I did any serious beauty purchases so this one was long overdue.
One this many people don’t know about me is that I am a freelance makeup artist. It’s something I stepped away from for a while, but now, I’m back in the thick of things. I’ve already done about 8 weddings and 3 photo shoots since the beginning of June, and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon. I would really like to say that all of the stuff above is for my kit, but it’s not. While I have kept up to date on keeping my kit fully stocked, I’ve sorely been neglecting my personal kit. What you are looking at below is what I have recently stocked in my personal stash. Excessive? Probably. Necessary? Yes, especially considering that I got rid of about 85% of my personal stash.
