I have long been a fan of MAC’s Mineralize Blushes.  Petal Power, released as a part of MAC’s Spring 2014 Campaign – A Fantasy of Flowers – is no exception to that rule.

Petal Power is described as a ‘coral pink with gold shimmer’.  The golden shimmer and warm orange undertones in this blush look amazing on darker skin tones.  Petal Power would also work very well for those with yellow undertones in their skin.  The colour payoff is excellent from start to finish, and while the shade looks like it might be a bit overpowering at first, the coverage is very build-able and very easy to control.  The golden shimmer contained in this blush also allows the blush to act as it’s own highlight.

I typically got a full day’s wear out of Petal Power, with no need to reapply or touch it up at any point throughout the day.  If you are unable to get your hands on this blush, but are looking for something similar I would suggest NARS Orgasm ($33.00 CAD) or Sleek Makeup’s Rose Gold ($6.99 US) as alternatives.

NARS orgasm is my favourite blush! It’s the perfect pink that makes you look awake but not too rosey. This MAC one looks lovely too. The gold undertones are so pretty!

NARS Orgasm is also one of my fave’s, but it was one I stayed away from for a long time as I didn’t think it would be suited to a darker skin tone. How wrong I was!
