Haven’t you heard? Going Nude is all the rage these days! Well at least it is when it comes to your makeup, and at the moment no one is doing it better than the newly re-released L’Oréal Collection Privée!
This collection was originally released as a limited edition collection during last-years Film Festival. For those of you who didn’t have the chance to pick it up then, you have the chance to do so now.
I personally have such a hard time finding a nude lip shade that works for me, so when this collection became available again I jumped at the chance to pick it up and test it out for myself. Of the lipstick shades available, the only one I didn’t pick up was Doutzen! It was far, far too much of a cool-toned pink for me to be able to pull it off, so I didn’t even bother with purchasing it. I did pick up Freda, J. Lo, Eva, Julianne and Liya in terms of lipsticks. Just from looking at them, I thought that my favourite of the shades would be Liya. It is a different kind of neutral and it is much darker than I was expecting. Indeed, I do like Liya, but my favourite of the lipstick shades is actually Eva. It’s a warm-toned pink and it looks amazing on it’s own or paired with a gloss for some added shine. It doesn’t make me look like I’ve been sucking on chalk which is always a plus when it comes to dealing with a neutral lipstick. Right now, this is the lipstick I am reaching for from this collection.
And let’s not forget that this collection is not all about the lips. It’s also about the nails as well. I picked up the four nail polish shades on offer and I love them. Of the four shades, I would have to say that Doutzen is my favourite with Liya running a close second. Likewise I am not too fond of Eva’s shade and I’m kind of on the fence with Julianne’s shade.
All in all, the L’Oréal Collection Privée offers something for absolutely everyone. If you can’t find the perfect nude for you in this collection, then it may not even exist!
Retailing between for roughly $10 CAD, you can find this collection in your local Shoppers Drug Mart.
