So back in May I told you that the Benefit Hyrdating Lip Balm in Bene Balm was one of my favourite products. It still is! Sadly, I have almost used up the one I had so of course this lead to a shopping trip to pick up a replacement. Well not only did I pick up a replacement of Bene Balm, I also picked up Posie Balm, Lolli Balm and Cha Cha Balm as well! Overkill? Perhaps! Do I care? Not a chance.
Retailing for $22 CAD, each of the various Benefit Hyrdrating Lip Balms is a fraternal twin to their ever popular cheek tints of the same name! Memo to self: Pick up full sized versions of the cheek tints because your mini sample sizes are running out*. I know a lot of people were disappointed with just how sheer these are, but I really don’t understand why. They are lip balms, not lip tints, gloss or lipsticks. To me a balm is supposed to be all about moisturizing your lips and if it provides a little colour, then great. In my eyes a balm is not where I am looking for highly pigmented colour payoff. If I want that, I will pick one of the other lip products. I personally love just how sheer the Benefit Hydrating Lip Balms are. They, to me are all about moisture and the sheerness really lends itself well to being able to wear them under other lip products.
While I am still in love with Bene Balm, my new favourite is Posie Balm. There is just something about a nice pink shade that works so well for summer.
On it’s own or under my lipstick, the Benefit Hydrating Lip Balms will continue to be one of my go to products for some time to come. You can purchase them at Benefit, Murale or Sephora.
